oikos Annual Report 2007:
Looking back, moving forward!

oikos has made great steps in 2007, reaching more students than ever and strengthening the network with more local members and advisors.

The oikos Annual Report 2007 shows the success story of oikos in 2007. Letting the numbers speak: oikos has reached more than 12,000 students (up from 4000 in 2006), about 5000 of these in the 'energy challenge' of oikos Warsaw. Significant for the long-term impact is the grown member base: More than 400 students are now active in the Local Chapters (up from 270 in 2006), and 71 representatives from business, research and policy have joined local advisory councils.

oikos has also grown qualitatively: The birthday conference 'Limits to Growth - Growing Beyond Limits?' at the university of St.Gallen was a great success and key projects like the Winter School have performed extraordinarily well. Two new oikos PhD Fellows have been selected for a start in February 2008, and two new Fellowships have been announced for October 2008. And finally, the website has been completely overhauled, including the tools for information exchange and networking in the member area.

The Annual Report also shows how oikos is moving into the future: On top of the established projects, the first round of students will be trained via the Project Leadership Programme, the first project counselling and funding will be provided through the  Project Development Fund and the Advisors Retreat will bring together advisors from Local Chapters for work together and exchange experience. The three oikos PhD Fellows will be joined by two more in October 2008.
